JAMMU, Feb 17: Parbjeet Singh was unopposed elected president of Drivers and Workers Union of State Motor Garages Department the elections of which were slated to be held here, today.
He was the lone candidate in the fray as the last date of filing nomination papers ended today. He was declared elected for second consecutive term as president by the chairman of the Union.
The Union is going to hold the elections for Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi districts on March 1 while in Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar, elections will be held on March 2 this year and for Udhampur, Samba and Kathua it will be held on March 3. This was stated in handout issued here in the evening by the Union.
The date of filing of forms was from February 15 to February 17. Checking of forms will be held on February 19 and date of withdrawal will be on February 20 up to 4pm.
