DGP sanctions welfare relief

JAMMU, Feb 19: Continuing with an aim to provide more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to give financial assistance to meet the urgent needs, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned welfare relief in favour of retired police personnel and NoKs of martyrs and deceased police personnel.
As per the two different order numbers, welfare relief of Rs 6,95,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 36 personnel.
The welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of 23 retired, NoKs of deceased police personnel and thirteen NoKs of martyr police personnel for the purpose of self/dependents treatment, marriage of their daughters and also to assist financially those who are in distress. The welfare relief ranges from Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000. The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund and Police Pariwar Fund.
The DGP also sanctions special welfare relief of Rs 20 lakh each in favour of HC Fayaz Ahmad, HC Rajinder Singh and SgCt Mohammad Majid who expired due to illness or natural death while in service. He also sanctioned special relief of Rs 5 lakh each in favour of five SPOs namely Sharief-ul-Hassan, Sishan Kumar, Daya Krishan, Dewan Chand and Zahoor Ahmad Najar, who expired during their engagement in the department. The amount has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Welfare relief is sanctioned in favour of J&K Police personnel to meet the expenses of different natures including self-treatment, treatment of dependants, education of wards, self-marriage and marriage of wards.
