Disabled persons facilitated at Latti camp

UDHAMPUR, Feb 19: At least 30 disabled persons were benefitted/ facilitated at a special camp organized at Latti town of Dudu Sub Division on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla today.
A camp was organised today under the supervision of Sarpanch Kasturi Lal Gupta with the active support of District Social Welfare Officer Udhampur and a team of Alimco Auxillary Punjab, Mohali, in which 39 beneficiaries of different Panchayats received different kind of artificial limbs, hearing aids, walking sticks, tri-cycles, cruches, smart cane, wheel chair etc.
Four family members of Paras Ram, resident of Pattan Garh, his two sons and two daughters received smart cane. After receiving artificial aids people were very rejoiced. People of different Panchayats raised the issue of pension in this camp which was addressed on spot by SWD officers.
They also assured the PRI’s that on every last week of month, they will collect the pension forms officially from Latti block office. They pointed out that Tehsil Social Welfare office is situated at Ram Nagar which is more than 100 kms away from Latti. The problems faced by pensioners are genuine.
On the occasion, Block Development Council chairman Darshan Kumar, SHO Ajay Engotra, Sarpanch Beant Gupta, Bodh Raj, Amitab Bachan, Pradeep Singh Rana were also present.
