Residents hold protest, demand inclusion of Hiranagar town into IB reservation list

KATHUA, Feb 19: The residents sat on protest demanding inclusion of Hiranagar town into International Border (IB) reservations list.
The residents in large numbers assembled in the premises of SDM Office Hiranagar and held protest over the discriminating attitude adopted by UT Government of deliberately ignoring the Hiranagar town from the list of IB reservation.
Leaders drawn from different political parties and social organizations including the BJP senior leader Advocate Vijay Sharma, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, Bharti Sharma, Dayal Singh and Shakti Punj addressed the gathering.
The leaders said that the SDM Hirangar forwarded a list of 18 left out villages falling under 0 to 6 kilometer radius from International border to Divisional Commissioner Jammu to be included in IB reservation list, but unfortunately left the Hiranagar town.
The residents demanded inclusion of Hiranagar town into the IB reservation lost.
They warned to protest on large scale if their demand is not redressed.
