90 cases disposed of in Lok Adalat at Samba

SAMBA, Feb 19: A monthly Lok Adalat was today held at District Court Complex, Samba under chairmanship of M.A. Chowdhary, Chairman DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge), for settlement of various cases.
Three benches were constituted – with Bench No I headed by M.A. Chowdhary (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Samba and assisted by Swati Gupta, Secretary, DLSA,, taking up MACT and Bank cases, Pre-litigation matters and all cases referred by District Judge.
The Bench also disposed of one recovery suit, referred by District Court Samba through E- mode wherein one party participated in the proceedings from Chennai, Tamil Nadu through virtual mode. A settlement of Rs. 1,35,000 was awarded in the suit which was settled amicably.
The second bench, headed by Vinod Kumar (Chief Judicial Magistrate), Samba and assisted by Madhu Khajuria (Additional Special Mobile Magistrate), took up, Cr. Compoundable cases, Matrimonial Cases, NI Act and Petty offences and all other Civil Suits.
The Third Bench, comprising Pooja Raina (Munsiff), Samba and Rashi Verma (Additional Munsiff), Samba, took up matrimonial cases, Cr. Compoundable cases, NI Act and Petty offences and all other civil suits. The representatives of banks, insurance companies, advocates and litigants participated in the Lok Adalat.
A total 112 cases were taken up by the benches out of which 90 cases were disposed of amicably and an amount of Rs. 36,35,500 was settled.
