Kishtwar becomes 4th Corona-free distt, 81 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 19: Eighty one persons today tested positive for virus in Jammu and Kashmir and 67 recovered while Kishtwar became fourth district in the Jammu region to have zero active cases.
Only one COVID positive person recovered in Kishtwar district today after which the district has become Coronavirus-free unless fresh cases are reported from there. Kathua, Ramban and Reasi districts are already free from active Corona cases.
Twenty two persons today tested positive for the virus in Jammu region including 12 in Jammu district and 10 in Udhampur while rest eight districts didn’t report any fresh cases.
Sixteen persons recovered from the virus, the highest being eight in Jammu district, six Udhampur and one each in Rajouri and Kishtwar districts.
Jammu region now has 51824 Corona cases. Among them, 152 are active positives while 50947 have recovered from the virus and there have been 725 casualties, the highest being 373 in Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 59 fresh cases of COIVD-19.
Those who tested positive include 31 from Srinagar, one Baramulla, five Budgam, 13 Pulwama, one Bandipora, two Ganderbal, three Kulgam and three from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 73,891 including 72,122 recoveries and 1,229 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 702 including 550 from Kashmir division.
With 67 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 123,059, which is 97.89 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported two fresh COVID positive cases, both in Leh district. Ladakh now has 41 active positive cases.
