UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: A delegation of the temple committee called on DDC Udhampur and submitted a memorandum demanding improvement of the condition of Chauntra Mata temple route before Navratri.
The delegation, under the leadership of Mool Raj, a DDC member, said that devotees face difficulties due to bad condition of the temple route.
Sagar Verma, a member of the Mata Chauntra Committee, said that the road from Ramnagar to the temple has been in bad condition for many years. “Thousands of devotees visit the temple every day in Navratri. Apart from Udhampur, devotees also reach from many other districts. Due to lack of road and other facilities, devotees face a lot of trouble,” he said, adding that there was also no supply of water as per the requirement.
Even before this, many times their demands and problems have been put the concerned authorities but till date no steps have been taken, said the DDC member.
The DC assured that all necessary arrangements would be made before forthcoming Navratri.
