RAMNAGAR, May 23:- On the direction of State Legal Services Authority and with an aim to provide relief to the litigants through mutual agreeable solution to the parties to save their time and money, a Mega Lok Adalat was held in the premises of Sub Judge Court, Ramnagar.
The Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Sub Judge and chairperson Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Ramnagar, Sandeep Kour.
During proceedings of the Lok Adalat, 11 civil and criminal cases were settled on the spot out of the total 15 cases taken up.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson, TLSC, stressed for creating mass awareness, particularly those living in rural areas about the concept and functioning of Lok Adalat. She added that lawyers could also play a pivotal role in educating the people in this regard. She said that Mega Lok Adalats are being held state wide with the aim to provide speedy justice to the litigants and resolve maximum possible cases with mutual consent. She made the participants aware about various acts and schemes launched for the welfare of public and urged people to avail the benefits.
Bar members, litigants and a large numbers of people participated in the Lok Adalat.
