3 more ultras held in Doda

JAMMU, May 23: A day after the arrest of two militants from Gandoh and Thathri, Doda police today arrested three more militants and worked out the case of grenade attack at Thathri police station besides thwarting their plot to revive militancy in Doda district.
Three militants, who were arrested today, have been identified as Abdul Rashid alias Abdullah son of Mohammad Iqbal Hargah R/o Tanta, Gandoh, Altaf Hussain son of Nazir Ahmad R/o Joura, Gandoh, presently putting up at Thathri and Mohammad Yaqoob son of Fateh Mohammad Gujjar R/o Bathree, Gandoh.
Two militants, who were arrested yesterday, included Akhter Hussain son of Showkat Ali Magray R/o Tanta, Gandoh and Mohammad Rafi son of Mohammad Ibrahim R/o Patnazi, Bounjwah.
Total recoveries made from the militants included one AK-56 rifle, three magazine, 143 rounds, one Chinese pistol, one magazine, five rounds, two Chinese grenades, one pouch and two walkie talkie wireless sets of Motorola.
Police said in addition to their involvement in grenade attack on Thathri police station, the militants were also trying to revive militancy in Doda. Their interrogation was on and some more arrests were likely, they added.
Arrests and recoveries were made by police parties headed by SSP Doda Arif Reshu under the supervision of IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar and DIG Udhampur-Ramban range Ashkoor Wani.
