JAMMU, May 23: Girls completely outclassed boys in Secondary School Examination, the results of which were declared today by the State Board of School Education. Of 20 positions shared by 173 students, girls bagged 115 while the boys were left with just 58.
Pass percentage for the boys and girls was almost same. Of total pass percentage of 62.44, girls recorded 63.31 while boys accounted for 61.71.
A total of 49,533 students had been enrolled for the examinations including 26,804 boys and 22,729 girls. While 16,540 boys and 14,390 girls passed the exams, 10,158 boys and 8233 girls failed. 2267 boys and 1983 girls got `I’ grade, which stood for improvement, Board of School Education (BOSE) Chairman, Hirdesh Kumar said in a handout issued this evening.
Afreen Khalid Kohli of Christ School Poonch and Jay Vikas of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP Higher Secondary School (HSS) Udhampur shared the first position taking 486 marks (97.2 per cent).
Gursheen Kour of SD Tara Puri Public High School (HS) Gandhi Nagar and Snatinu Kumar of Shiksha Niketan HS Gandhi Nagar jointly bagged second position with both of them securing 484 marks (96.8 per cent).
At 483 marks (96.6 per cent), four students jointly claimed third slot. They included Ananya Chouhan of KNIT Talab Tillo, Annie Vaid of JK Montessori School Talab Tillo, Parul Verma of Budding Flower HS Dewal and Gunwant Singh of Christ School Nowshera.
Hansja Sharma of St Xavier Convent HS Barnai, Vaishali Rajpur of Holy Cross Convent HS RS Pura and Nisha of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP HSS Udhampur jointly accounted for fourth position taking 481 marks (96.2 per cent).
Fifth position again went to four students including Niharika Mahajan of Shiksha Niketan HS Gandhi Nagar, Anandita Bhandari of St Peter HS BS Road, Keshev Bhadwal of Budding Flower HS Dewal and Pragati Mahajan of Sacred Heart Convent HS Phinter with 480 marks (96 per cent).
Pooja Choudhary of Maharaja Hari Singh DAV Public School RS Pura and Anchal Gupta of Montessori Nargis Dutt Sr Sec School RS Pura shared sixth position by securing 479 marks (95.8 per cent).
Again, three students took 478 marks each (95.6 per cent) and bagged seventh position. They are Shubam Pandit of Vishwa Bharti Pub HSS Akalpur, Anamika Sharma of Nirmala HS Dhanger and Preeti of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP HSS Udhampur.
Four students got 477 marks each (95.4 per cent) and shared eighth position. They included Radhika Gupta of SD Tara Puri Public HS Gandhi Nagar, Mridul Abrol of SSM Jammu Public HSS Sarwal Patoli, Jattinder Partap Singh of SP Higher Sec School Exchange Road and Gittin Mahajan of New Gandhi Memorial HSS Miran Sahib.
Aparna Razdan of Conventary School Chinore, Gurjot Kour of St Peter HS BC Road, Abdul Rouf of Model Academy BC Road, Kavita Gupta of Harsh Niketan HSS Sunderbani and Akhilesh Pakhetra of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP HSS Udhampur took 476 marks each (95.2 per cent) to share 9th position.
Eight students shared 10th position taking 475 marks (95 per cent). They included Samreen Kour of Unique Public HSS Gadi Garh Jammu, Areeha Malik and Tushita of Carmel Convent HS Kunjwani, Poonam Choudhary of Vimal Vidyalaya Akalpur, Palvi Sharma of St Francis HSS Akhnoor, Ramanpreet Kour of Montessori Nargis Dutt Sr Sec School RS Pura, Sanamdeep Kour of Fatima Convent HS Bishnah and Hitakshi Sharma of National High School Samba.
Eleventh position went to 14 students including Tilakshi Sharma of St Peter HSS Karan Bagh, Harsha Gupta and Mansi Bandral of Carmel Convent HS Kunjwani, Nikita Mahajan of Jagriti Niketan School Talab Tillo, Sheetal Dhar of Slite Public HS Om Nagar Udheywala, Arshia Gupta of Oriental Academy Jammu, Sahil Sharma of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Sahil Mahajan of SSM Jammu Public HSS Sarwal Patoli, Manik Gupta of Oriental Academy Jammu, Aakil Pragati of Vir Sawarkar HSS School Basohli, Aradhana of Sacred Heart Convent HS Phinter, Ankit Mahajan and Arti Jamwal of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP HSS Udhampur and Manmeet Singh of St Antony’s Convent HS Gagore Vijaypur. They secured 474 marks (94.8 per cent).
Twelfth position was shared by six students taking 473 marks (94.6 per cent). They are Shreya Sharma of RRL High School Canal Road, Sneha Raina of Luthra Public School Talab Tillo, Nikhil Anand of Nav Yug HSS Subash Nagar, Ayush Koul of Model Academy, Sparsh Dagoria of Sacred Hearth Convent HS Phinter and Deepika of Spring Dales English Medium School Kathua.
Thirteenth position went to 10 students, who bagged 472 marks (94.4 per cent). They included Ridhima Mahajan of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Shuvam Gupta of New Era Environmental School Jammu, Shweta Bhan of St Xavier Convent HS Barnai, Himani Deonian of Fatima Convent HS Bishnah, Kanish Mahajan of Tiny Scholars HS Kathua, Rimpy Sharma of Little Angel’s HSS Kathua, Sakshi Sharma of Spring Dales English Medium School Kathua, Nishesh Rattan of New Public High School Sunderbani, Danish Vaid of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP HSS Udhampur and Nourien Bhatti of Humanity Public High School Bassi Kalan.
Nine students bagged 14 position taking 471 marks (94.2 per cent). They are Shivalika Sharma of St Peter High School BC Road, Anjum Choudhary of Model Academy, Sonali Arora of Oriental Academy, Neeraj Chagathia of St Paul’s Convent HS Gangyal, Unmukat Sharma and Arjun Singh Thakur of Sacred Heart Convent HS Phinter, Sunidhi Mahajan of Harsh Niketan HSS Sunderbani, Vishal Singh and Rakesh Koul of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP HSS Udhampur.
The 15th position was secured by 12 students namely Yashika Choudhary of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Vaishali Sharma of Nand Public HSS Shantipura Roop Nagar, Shivani Raina of Conventary School Chinore, Sparsh Sharma of Shanti Swaroop Memorial Public School Patoli, Ajay Sharma of Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar, Nadia Azad of Montessori Nargis Dutt Senior Secondary School RS Pura, Shivani Thapa of Infant Jesus Higher Secondary School Hiranagar, Olive Sharma of Christ School Poonch, Meenal Sharma of Christ School Nowshera, Heena Chowdhary of HEM Higher Secondary School Rajouri, Shivam Jandial and Pranav Koushal, both from Brahrishi Bawra SVP Higher Secondary School Udhampur by getting 470 marks (94%).
Muskan Bhalla and Mansi Choudhary, both from Carmel Convent High School Kunjwani Bye Pass, Akansha Devi of SP Higher Secondary School Exchange Road, Sushant Kharthol of Oriental Academy, Rohan Singh Sambyal of Tiny Scholars High School Kathua, Aradhna Andotra of Little Angels Higher Secondary School Kathua, Asmita Gupta of New Public High School Sunderbani and Awantika Sharma of Brahmrishi Bawra SVP Higher Secondary School Udhampur secured 16th position taking 469 marks (93.8%).
