International FDP commences at GDC Darhal

RAJOURI, Feb 23: Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal today inaugurated a seven day online International Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Empowering Teacher Education and Technology’.
Cape Comorin Trust India collaborated GDC Darhal in organizing the FDP which started with the welcome address by the GDC Principal, Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia. Speaking on the occasion he said that this was a rare opportunity for a newly established College to organize such an International FDP and the credit goes to the Department of Higher Education of J&K Government for providing better infrastructure to even the far flung colleges that they are in a position to even organize such international events.
He informed that 93 participants from India and other parts of the world are attending the FDP.
Jasrotia said that such FDPs are need of the hour as a technologically advanced teacher is more effective in the present era.
Convener of the FDP, Dr. Ahsan-ul-Rehman, HoD Arabic at GDC Darhal introduced the participants about the FDP.
He invited the resource person of the first day of FDP Dr. Malini Ganapathy from School of Languages, Literacies and Translation, University Sains Malaysia who deliberated on the topic ‘Teacher Educator’s Knowledge and Practices of the 21st Century Pedagogies.’
Finally vote of thanks was presented by Organizing Secretary of FDP Dr. Ather Aziz Raina, HoD Mathematics. He also gave a detail of the resource persons to be invited for the coming days of FDP.
