Three arrested with contraband

JAMMU, Feb 23: Bagh-e-Bahu, Batote and Chinore Police arrested three drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Kirti Sharma laid a naka near Moh Maya temple and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 12 grams heroin from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Kalu, son of Sobat Ali of Palpar District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Batote laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB07Q-8250, which was heading towards Jammu from Srinagar.
During checking, police team recovered 8.5 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Palvinder Singh, son of Pargat Singh of District Hoshiarpur Punjab.
Police team led by SHO Batote Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Singh Chib, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
However, a team from Police Post Chinore led by Inspector Deepak Bharti and assisted by ASI Bharat Singh during checking at Bagani Talab Raipur arrested a drug peddler along with 155 grams of cannabis.
The arrested person has been identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed of District Anantnag, at present Bagani Talab Raipur.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu, Batote and Domana Police Stations and investigation started.
