Police rescues 3 bovines, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, Feb 23: Kathua police has foiled bovine smuggling bid in its jurisdictional area and rescued three bovines and seized Mahindra Scorpio involved in the smuggling.
Police said a team of Police Post, Hatli Chowk under the supervision of Inspector, Sandeep Charak while on Naka checking duty in its jurisdiction intercepted a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number, PB07M-0371 being driven by unknown driver. On seeing police party the driver stopped the vehicle far behind the naka point and fled away from the spot.
During checking, three bovines were found loaded in the Scorpio vehicle, which were rescued later.
A case FIR No. 83/2021 Under Sections 188 IPC,11 PCA Act, 184MV act has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
