JAMMU, Feb 24: Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, Saurab Bhagat and Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid War today had an online interaction with the industrialists of Jammu province regarding finalization of Jammu and Kashmir Rules on the Four Labour Codes.
Besides the officers and officials of Labour Department and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Presidents and representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu, BBIA, ASSOCHAM, Associations of Industries Gangyal, Digiyana, Gangyal, Hiranagar and Samba, SSI Birpur and Taxi Operators Union participated in the interactive programme.
A detailed deliberation on the four codes and draft rules framed there-under was held during the interaction.
Commissioner Secretary, informed the participants that the Government of India has introduced the Four Labour Codes with an objective to streamline and simplify the country’s existing labour laws, which will facilitate growth of industrial and commercial activities by ensuring harmonious relationship between employer and workers.
The participants were further informed that objections and suggestions have been invited from all the stakeholders on the draft rules notified under Four Labour Codes by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Draft Rules are available on the website of Labour & Employment Department/ Labour Commissioner.
During the discussion, the industrialists and Presidents of Industrial Associations sought additional time for examining the draft rules and submission of objections.
Commissioner Secretary assured that though the time to file the objections is going to be expired by tomorrow, however, keeping in view the interest of the stakeholders, their objections shall be considered under rules.
