Expedite delimitation exercise in J&K: Hakeem Yaseen

SRINAGAR, Feb 24: Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF)  Hakeem Yaseen has urged the Delimitation Commission to complete delimitation exercise expeditiously in a fair and transparent manner so that Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are held at the earliest.
He said in the absence of an elected Government, the people of J&K are facing acute  socio- political-cum-developmental deficit.
In a statement issued today, Yaseen has urged for early  completion of the delimitation exercise in Jammu and Kashmir. He said since  the delimitation exercise has a direct bearing on the socio – political  aspiration of the people, it should be conducted in a most fair and transparent manner to meet expectations of each region and sub-region of J&K.
He urged the Delimitation Commission to take all the relevant parameters including constitutional guarantees, population, area, topography and terrain of respective constituencies  into account while finalising its recommendations.
