JAMMU, Feb 24: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding elections in J&K.
The protest was led by JWAM president, Sunil Dimple who said that the Government should restore statehood to J&K before Assembly elections.
“ECI is holding Assembly elections in five States and the same should be done in J&K too so that the people here can also have an elected Government,” he said demanding complete delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies before the Assembly elections.
The JWAM leader also demanded Parliamentary constituency for Jammu district and claimed that the population and the voters in Jammu district are more than what is required for a parliament seat.
