Police solve theft case, accused held

Srinagar, Feb 25: Police in Srinagar today said to have solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of the crime and recovered stolen property.
The police said that on February 24 the Police Station received a written complaint from Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Firdousabad Batmaloo wherein he stated that a large number of tyres are missing from his warehouse located at Diyarwani Batmaloo.
“The complainant suspected one of his salesman involved in the crime,” police said.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 18/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Batmaloo and an investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, police said that the suspect salesman was held and questioned thoroughly.
“Officers learnt about his involvement in the commission of the crime and was subsequently arrested. On his disclosure officers were also able to recover 42 tyres of different vehicles from Kanihama Budgam,” police said.
