JAMMU, Feb 25: A new political party with name Shiv Sena (JK) has been floated here today with Ashwani Gupta as its president.
A handout of Shiv Sena (JK) claimed that entire Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena along with its supporters has merged with the newly floated Shiv Sena.
Others who were appointed as office bearers of Shiv Sena (JK) were Vipin Hindu, appointed as chairman; Rakesh Kak, working president; Raj Singh, general secretary; Romesh Gupta, senior vice president; Raju Salaria, vice president cum spokesperson; Nath Pal Choudhary and Pawan Manhas-both vice presidents; Mangu Ram and Sanjeev Kumar-both state secretaries.
Speaking on the occasion president of the newly formed political party, Ashwani Gupta said they will fight for the cause of Jammu and will participate in all Hindu festivals.
He demanded restoration of Statehood to J&K, flayed property tax in J&K and demanded that rights of poor should be protected.
The Shiv Sena leader also said that law and order situation in J&K is a matter of concern.
