Workers stage protest, project burning issues

JAMMU, Feb 26: The employees and workers under the banner of J&K Coordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) held protest rally at the Press Club near Dogra Chowk here today.
Led by Mohd Maqbool, president of the JKCCTU, they were protesting against the pro-corporate and anti-working class and anti-farmer policies of the Central Govt.
Addressing gathering Maqbool alleged that BJP Govt and J&K UT Administration while using Covid pandemic, have adopted the most reactionary, pro-corporate and anti-working class policies, which are responsible for sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities, alarming unemployment, wage cut and retrenchments, DA feezing etc, making life of working class people more miserable.
He said the pro-capitalist Labour reforms and Farm laws and ruthless drive of privatization of almost all the PSUs and Govt Departments has created havoc and lakhs of people are on the streets to protest these anti-people measures. He demanded stoppage of privatization of PDD and PSUs and expressed full solidarity with the farmers struggle. He demanded Rs 21,000 per month wages for the daily rated/ all consolidated workers till they are regularized.
