Notice issued to complainant, others in assault case

JAMMU, Feb 27: Akhnoor police today issued a notice under Section 160 CrPC to the complainant and another notice to others in an assault case to record their statement.
According to a police official, two counter FIRs were registered by Akhnoor police on February 24 and 25 in an assault case occurred at Mawa Karora, Karangi in Akhnoor area.
He said the SHO Akhnoor Inspector Ravi Parihar along with police party visited the spot at Mawa Karora (Karangi) on February 25 but the house of complainant Arjun Singh was locked and no other witness appeared before SHO for recording statement.
The SHO along with police party once again visited the site of assault on February 26 but the complainant and his relatives refused to record their statements. Subsequently, notice under Section 160 CrPC was issued to Arjun Singh and others for recording their Statement under 161 CrPC, but till date no witness reported for recording their statement.
