Bharat Bhushan vows to empower Gram Sabhas

JAMMU, Feb 28: District Development Council (DDC), Jammu Chairman, Bharat Bhushan today exhorted party workers to make efforts in fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to establish Ramrajya by empowering Gram Sabhas across Jammu and Kashmir.
“I will make efforts to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to establish Ramrajya by empowering Gram Sabhas across Jammu and Kashmir,” Bharat Bhushan said while addressing the Working Committee meeting of district Kissan Morcha Jammu Rural at Bawa Talab near, here. The meeting was organized by Satish Sharma, district president, Kissan Morcha Jammu Rural.
The DDC Chairman said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is very concerned about empowering Gram Panchayats and to address the grievances of every citizen. He said Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of ‘Ram Rajya’ an ideal society in the country and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is trying to turn the father of the nation’s vision into reality.
“Lord Rama had all the qualities of a perfect ruler. He was pro-people and loved his citizens. That is why Lord Ram’s rule was considered as ideal and that is why Gandhiji dreamed of Ram Rajya,” he said, adding that PM Modi’s vision of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” is part of Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology of self-reliance.
“We need to empower Gram Panchayats so that they equally participate in the process of development and take decisions for the upliftment of people residing in far-flung areas,” he added.
“PM Modi dreams to empower Gram Sabhas at par with Lok Sabha, so they can play a crucial role for upliftment of downtrodden societies. With the empowerment of Gram Panchayats the development will reach at the grass root level and democracy will further strengthen,” he said.
Others, who were present in the meeting included Omi Khajuria State president , Kissan Morcha JKUT, gen secretary , Robot Verma, Ashok Kerni, Pawan Slathia, Ram Lal, Babu Ram, Harbans Singh, Nand Kishore, Jaswant Singh and Rash Pal Verma.
