REASI, Feb 28: The palace of General Zorawar Singh at Vijaypur in Reasi is being damaged by some miscreants, who are dismantling this state protected monument to usurp the land attached to the premises.
This was alleged by Diksha Kaluria and Riya Kaluria, descendants of General Zorawar Singh and Trustee of GZSME Trust, while talking to media persons, here today.
“The act of damaging the palace of greatest of Dogra General Zorawar Singh requires immediate filing of FIR against the culprits who are hell bent upon dismantling a state protected monument to usurp the land attached to palace,” they said.
They alleged that State Archaeology Department was silent on the whole matter and was not interested in taking any action thus allowing its own state protected monument to fall victim to land grabbers.
The palace/Haveli of General Zorawar Singh at Vijaypur, Reasi has been declared as a state protected monument by the State Archaeology Department, Mubarak Mandi, Jammu under the Monuments and Sites Preservation Act.
The press conference was also addressed by Tandeepak, Member of the Trust and others.
