SAMBA, Mar 1: District administration Samba in collaboration with Jeevan Sangharsh Trust (NGO) today organised a day-long ADIP camp for the disabled persons.
The camp was sponsored by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
A total of 44 beneficiaries were provided wheelchairs/tricycles which were distributed among them by District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria- the chief guest of the event. He appreciated the efforts of Jeevan Sangharsh Trust chairperson, Rajni Sharma for organising such camps in different districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Planning officer Sukhleen Kour; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitender Mishra; District Social Welfare (DSWO), Samba, Deep Raj along with other officers/officials from district administration were also present.
A team from State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) also provided support in conducting the camp under the supervision of Director General of Police (Home Guards/Civil Defence/SDRF), DIG (Home Guards/Civil Defence/SDRF) and Commandant SDRF IInd Battalion, Jammu, SSP Nisha Nathyal.
Officers/officials of SDRF namely Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Surinder Dubey, ASI Ajeet Singh, Head Constable Parshotam Singh and Head Constable Ravi Kant assisted the NGO in the camp. The proceedings of the camp were conducted by Manvi Sharma.
