UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 14 animals besides arresting the accused.
Police naka party, led by Inspector Pushpinder Singh SHO Chenani, under the supervision of Ahmed Shaafi SDPO Chenani intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK03H 7202 at Motorshed, National Highway. During search , 14 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck without any valid permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and the driver of the truck, identified as Ishtaq Ahmed, son of Mohd Rafiq of Cheerhard, Anantnag was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Chenani and further investigation is underway.
