JAMMU, Mar 3: Another IAS officer, a native of Jammu and Kashmir but posted in Assam-Meghalaya cadre, was today cleared for posting in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on inter-cadre deputation in relaxation of rules.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) today cleared the inter-cadre deputation of Syed Fakrudin Hameed, an IAS officer of 2017 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre to J&K. He will be posted in J&K through AGMUT cadre after clearance by the Appointments Committee on Cabinet (ACC) in next few days.
Hameed had moved request letter to serve in his home UT of Jammu and Kashmir after the Ministry of Home Affairs invited letters from the IAS officers who want to be posted in J&K due to shortage of officers here.
Already, a number of officers from different All India Services have been posted in Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Minister Incharge DoPT Dr Jitendra Singh said the IAS officers who want to serve in Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of the fact that whether it is their home UT or not can submit their applications to the Department.
