Sir,
It’s high time the Government accepts the fact that it can’t control betting and what is stopping the Government to legalise betting in India like the way it is in the other parts of the world. Besides, there are other sports wherein betting is legal then why single out cricket? Of course there is nothing wrong with sports making money, but can we not utilize the money to build a strong sports culture in the country?
It’s better to have a single transparent policy than trying to control something, which we know we are miserable at, especially when it comes to taking responsibility. IPL is the child of BCCI and therefore it must take right action and chalk out a proper regulatory framework, so that, incidents like these don’t occur again. It demoralizes other players in the team and also sets a wrong example especially for youngsters who are still learning the nuances of the game.
Yours etc…
