Sir,
I would like to request the Finance Deptt of the J&K Govt. to reconsider the physical verification drive through respective treasuries for the pensioners who are drawing the pension through J&K Bank Business Units across country, because the pensioners present themselves physically at the Banks at the time of withdrawals.
The life certificates are obtained by the Banks after every six months.
The yearly verification is not justified, however, in doubtful cases the Govt can do it gladly.
The pensioners are not sheeps and goats to be verified physically year after year.
A pensioner means old and an infirm cannot wait for hours together during this unprecedented heat.
The verification, if required can be done at the place of withdrawal of pension only i.e. either at Bank or at Treasury as the case may be. This will save us from agony.
