Srinagar, Mar 4: As the weatherman forecast wet weather on March 6 and 7, the minimum temperatures increased in Kashmir valley today.
A Meteorological Department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 3.9 degree Celsius against 2.8 degree Celsius the previous night. The temperature was 1.7 degree Celsius above normal for this time of the year in Srinagar.
Qazigund recorded a low of 2.2 degree Celsius against 1.4 degree Celsius the previous night while the mercury settled at 2.1 degree Celsius at the famous resort of Pahalgam against 0.5 degree Celsius the previous night.
Kokernag recorded a low of 3.4 degree Celsius against 2.5 degree Celsius the previous night.
The minimum temperature settled at 3.4 degree Celsius in Kupwara against 0.2 degree Celsius the previous night.
Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.0 degree Celsius against minus 2.4 degree Celsius the previous night.
“Fairly widespread rains have been predicted for March 6 while widespread rains have been forecast on March 7”, the official said.
The weatherman has also issued “yellow warning” for isolated heavy rain, snow on March 7 and said that the weather system may impact surface traffic due to landslides on Jammu-Srinagar highway.
