Shrine Board employees protest against Police

KATRA, Mar 5: In protest against alleged manhandling by Police, employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board went on strike even as the matter was later resolved on the assurance of senior officers.
Reports said that a Security Guard of the Shrine Board, who was performing his duty at Bhairon temple, was allegedly misbehaved by SHO Bhawan and kept in illegal custody for several hours, late last night. Led by Purshotam Singh, general secretary of the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Employees Union, the protesting employees raised slogans against Police and suspended work this morning.
Later on, senior officers from the Shrine Board and Police pacified the protestors by assuring necessary action against the guilty. On their assurance, the protesting employees called off their strike and resumed duties.
