Pak using one Kashmir against other: Dutta

Excelsior Correspondent
Jammu, Mar 5: Countering terrorism in Kashmir has become highly challenging task due to the exploitation of new information and communication technology by Pakistan sponsored terror groups, said Pradeep Dutta Senior Editor Times Now while interacting with scholars and researchers at Jammu University today.
While presenting paper on topic : ‘Origin and Development of Terrorism in Pakistan: A case Study of PoJK,’ oraganised by Centre for Strategic Studies, Jammu University, Pradeep Dutta explained that how battle field has become multi dimensional one encompassing both physical territory and cyber space.
“Nowadays insurgencies are being shaped by cyber space, shifting centre of gravity from physical world to virtual domain,” he elaborated.
He emphasised how Pakistan for the last several decades has been using one Kashmir (PoK) to target other Kashmir (J&K). Giving details about terror factories and terror launchpads, Pradeep said PoK has remained hub of terrorism for decades.
“Pakistani agencies have created terror infrastructure in PoK to target India. In short it has become launch pad to push jihadis,” he added.
Pradeep during his presentation explained how Pakistan was using hybrid warfare – combining conventional and irregular warfare alongside cyber and information warfare – in fermenting internal disorder in India.
Recounting developments in early 90’s, Dutta said how then Pakistan-based militants trained in jihadi factories in PoK were responsible for the massacre and migration of Kashmiri Pundits from J&K, changing the demography of the region forever, which has benefitted them in extending the conflict.
“Earlier there used to be saying: All roads lead to Rome. Now world is aware that in every terrorist action, somewhere the hand of Pakistan emerges. Pakistan-run terrorist factories export their products to every part of the globe,” he explained.
On Chinese presence in PoK, Pradeep said, all has been possible because of Pakistan’s support for Chinese involvement in PoK for upgradation of infrastructure and development in the region.
“It seeks to capitalise on Chinese presence in PoK to counterbalance India in a warlike situation with India ,” said Pradeep.
