SAMBA, Mar 7: In continuation to its drive against illegal mining and illegal transportation of construction material, Samba police seized seven vehicles including one Dumper and six tractor trolleys which were being used for illegal mining and transportation of the construction material.
Acting on reliable information regarding illegal mining and transportation of construction material (sand) from Basantar river-bed, Samba, a police team of Police Station, Samba rushed to the spot and seized five vehicles including a Dumper having registration number JK21E-7716 and four tractor-trolleys bearing registration numbers. JK21C-5867, JK21D-3997 and two tractor-trolleys were found without registration numbers. They were also seized which were engaged into illegal mining and transportation of construction material from said area.
Similarly, police team of PS Ramgarh while performing patrolling duty in its jurisdiction area, intercepted two tractor-trolleys one having registration number JK21B-0067 and other without registration number for illegal transportation of construction material (Sand).
All the seven vehicles were seized on spot and cases entrusted to Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further action.
