Lady among two arrested with stolen 7 tolas gold, cash

JAMMU, Mar 8: Domana police arrested two thieves including a lady along with stolen 7 tolas gold ornaments and cash.
As per police sources, on February 28 this year, a complaint was lodged by Priyanka Sharma, wife of Rahul Sharma of Hiranagar District Kathua, at present Paloura District Jammu with Police Station Domana stating that some unidentified persons entered into his quarter at Paloura and decamped with one gold Mangal Sutra (5 tolas), one gold chain (2 tolas) and cash of Rs 5,000.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 62/2021 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Domana rounded up several suspected and finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Pavneet Singh, son of Narinder Singh of Chatha Farm Satwari District Jammu.
The accused confessed his involvement in the theft along with his relative Balwinder Kour, wife of late Kulwant Singh of Baba Ajit Singh Nagar Upper Gadigarh Jammu. The lady was also arrested.
On his disclosure, police recovered all the stolen property worth Rs 3,20,000.
The whole operation was conducted by SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma and his team under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
