JAMMU, Mar 9: All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organizations today stressed for rectification of the Draft Excise Policy 2021-22 which eliminated the section on granting license to Ex-servicemen, SC, ST, OBC and economically weaker sections.
RK Kalsotra, State president of the Confederation, said that last year a delegation of the Confederation met the then LG GC Murmu who approved the reservation for SC/ST/OBCs in the distribution of license in the Excise Policy. He said this was reflected in the Excise Policy 2020-21 and LG Manoj Sinha had assured of its continuation.
“But the latest Draft Excise Policy 2021-22 has deleted the paragraph which provides for the reservation of license in the excise policy to the ex-servicemen, SC, ST, OBC and economically weaker sections,” he said, adding, this not only reflects the bias of the administration towards the vulnerable sections to society but also highlights a bigger conspiracy to deny social justice and equal opportunities to the people.
Kalsotra said that such actions of the administration highlight the malafide contentions and should be rectified as soon as possible.
