SAMBA, Mar 9: District Police Samba in consecutive day today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing five animals at naka NHW Tapyal in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines towards Valley a police party of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal laid a vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal and while checking it intercepted a Mahindra vehicle having registration Number, JK08D-7678 which was coming from Kathua side and heading towards Valley. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot and case registered under relevant sections of the law.
