Bhalla dedicates Rs 70 lakh building to GMS

JAMMU, May 27: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today said that the Government was making all out efforts to make available better infrastructural facilities at all educational institutions across the State.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after dedicating newly constructed double storey school building to Government Middle School, (GMS) Channi Himmat students, here today.
Director School Education Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi, Chief Education Officer Natha Ram Dingra, besides other senior officers of R&B, PDD, PHE and School Education were present on the occasion.
The Minister asked the teaching fraternity to impart quality education to the students so that they would become good citizens and serve the country. He said teachers are the architects who shape the personality of the nation builders. He directed them to increase enrolment of students so that the institution can be upgraded under Rashtriya Madayamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RAMSA).
He said the Government has constituted a team of School Education Department officers for identifying those children who are not getting education due to financial constraints or other reasons. He said Government has been bearing about Rs. 3000 expenses on the education of each student which include free books, uniform and scholarship, besides mid-day meal.
For facilitating the teachers and students, the Minister stated that the Government has approved Rs. 15 crore for construction of 50-room capacity teacher Bhawan and 500-seating capacity auditorium near Government Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar, adding that the prestigious project is under progress and would be completed within stipulated time frame.
