JAMMU, May 27: A protest demonstration of All J&K Village Level Workers’ Association and RDD Employees’ Federation was held here today at Director RDD Jammu, under the chairmanship of State general secretary of the Association, Anurudh Singh.
The protestors emphasized for reorganization of the RDD, as they said that it is impossible to implement the Central and State sponsored schemes effectively on account of vacant posts of VLWs.
At Province level, there are five directors working, at district level 18 district officers are working, while at Panchayat level there is only one VLW who is running more than two Panchayats, they said, adding all the posts of Inspector Grade II are also lying vacant since long.
The Association gave one month time to the Government to fulfill its demands, which had already been submitted to the Chief Minister through Director RDD in the shape of memorandum. If the Government fails to fulfill our demands, a strong protest would be held against the Government throughout the district, the speakers said.
