JWAM demands ban on liquor sale in J&K

JAMMU, Mar 10: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding total ban on the sale of liquor in J&K especially in Jammu city.
Addressing protesters JWAM leader Sunil Dimple claimed that government is making people liquor addicts to generate revenue.
He flayed the new liquor policy of the government to open more wine shops and claimed that liquor gives rise to crime and domestic violence.
The JWAM leader demanded a total ban on wine shops at holy Katra city.
“Women say their husbands and brothers create nuisance after consuming liquor,” he maintained adding that the affected women are unable to run their homes, feed their children and fail to pay school fees of their children as the men spends all money on liquor.
Dimple also demanded Statehood for J&K with special status and said that investors should only be allotted land in J&K on lease base and jobs in J&K industries should be given only to local youths.
Manjiet Anand, Sachin Soi, Sat Pal Kohli, Sat Sharma, Rajesh, Uppal Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Om Parkash Sharma, Anmol Anand, Arjun, Rupesh Bhat, Tarsem Lal and others were also present in the protest.
