KATHUA, Mar 11: Kathua police apprehended one person hailing from Jammu along with six Kilograms of Ganja under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Kathua.
Police said a team of Anti Drug Unit Kathua along with team of Police Station while surprise naka checking at Satkey Chak Kathua, apprehended a person namely Suresh Kumar, son of Kundan Lal of Narwal district Jammu who was enroute Jammu from Ludhiana. Seeing the search going on, he de-boarded the bus far behind the naka point and tried to cross the checkpoint by foot without getting identified but remained unsuccessful and the team finally nabbed him.
On physical search, respective police team was able to recover six kilograms of ganja like contraband substance from his possession.
A case FIR No. 125/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in concerned Police Station and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile Anti Drug Unit, Kathua recovered 23 grams of heroin like substance in the jurisdiction of Kathua Police Station and arrested three accused along with the seized contraband on spot.
A joint team of Anti Drug Unit Kathua and Police Station (PS) Kathua during patrolling duty near Railway Line Logate, Morh Kathua found three persons roaming in suspicious condition. Sensing the situation, these persons tried to fled who were chased and were finally nabbed by the police party on spot.
On physical search, 23 grams of heroin like contraband was recovered from the possession of all the accused including Sunil Kumar alias Vicky, son of Mani Ram of Ward No.2 Kathua from whom eight grams were seized, Abhay Rai son of Sukhwinder Rai, of Deeda Sansiya, Deenanagar with nine grams and Rohit son of Mohinder Paul of Logate Morh tehsil and district Kathua with eight grams, thus making a total of 23grams of heroin like contraband substance. All the accused were arrested.
A case FIR No. 122/2021 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, stands registered at concerned Police Station and further investigation is under process.
