Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 11: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids and arrested two cattle smugglers.
As per police sources, on reliable information about cattle smuggling, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AL-6110, JK14D-1937 and JK02CJ-7152.
During checking, police team rescued six bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who were identified as Mohammad Arif, son of Haji Abdul Gani of Belicharana District Jammu and Mohammad Yaqoob, son of Mohammad Sharief, a resident of District Udhampur.
Cases under FIR Numbers 103/2021, 104/2021 and 105/2021 under relevant Sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
