Srinagar/Jammu/ Leh, Mar 12: Fifty nine persons today tested positive for COVID-19 while two persons died of Corona in Kashmir.
The two persons who died were suffering from corona and were admitted to hospitals here. With their death, overall toll in J&K is now 1971 including 1242 in Valley.
Those who tested positive include 34 from Srinagar, 10 Baramulla, 5 Budgam, 2 Pulwama, 3 Kupwara, 3 Anantnag, 1 Ganderbal, and 1 from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 75,266 including 73,327 recoveries and 1,242 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 887 including 697 from Kashmir division.
With 80 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 124,578 which is 97.76 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, 14 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu region today including nine in Jammu district, three Poonch and one each in Udhampur and Rajouri districts.
Six persons recovered from the virus, all in Jammu district.
Jammu region now has 52170 Coronavirus cases. Among them, 51251 have recovered and only 190 were active positives. There have been 729 casualties in the region.
The casualties include 377 in Jammu district, 64 Doda, 7 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Samba district.
Meanwhile, six COVID positive cases were today reported in Leh district of UT of Ladakh. Kargil district didn’t report any positive cases today.
Ladakh now has 30 active positive cases.
