JAMMU, May 28: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded filling up of vacant posts in the Power Development Department.
A meeting of NMC was held under the chairmanship of its president Subash Shastri, who while speaking said that the large number of vacancies right from Tech IV to Chief Engineers are lying vacant in PDD since long.
He appealed to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Iqbal Khanday and Principal Secretary PDD Arun Kumar Mehta to intervene personally and fill up the vacancies at the earliest. He also demanded release of pending wages of causal labour working in the PDD Department vis-à-vis their regularization.
