KATHUA, May 13: In connection with celebration of birth anniversary of Sant Shri Gora Ji Maharaj a grand function was held at village Chandwan, tehsil Mareen near here.
On the occasion new Mutris of Sant Gora Ji, Bhagwan Vithal Ji (Vishnu Ji) and Mata Rukmani were also installed in the newly constructed temple at Chandwan after performing Yagya with full religious rituals.
The largely attended function was presided over by Punnu Ram, vice president of the Sabha. Jeet Singh convener of the Sabha was the chief guest. Mahatma Deepak Ji was the special guest from Maharashtra. He threw light on the life and teachings of Gora Ji Maharaj.
Prominent persons who attended the function included Hans Raj Jhangad, working president of All India Federation of Backward Classes, New Delhi. Karan Kumar Attri, DDC member Marheen, Bhawna Devi, Sarpanch Chandwan, Madan Lal Baldotra, G R Dafaara, F C Satia, Krishan Lal Dafaara, Master Kartar Chand, Vijay Kumar, Sai Das Tadia, Dwarika Nath, Tilak Raj, Ashok Kumar and Manju Bala.
On the conclusion of the function clothes were distributed among the poor. F C Satia , general secretary of the Sabha conducted the proceedings of the programme. A langer was also served to the devotees.
