District admn constitutes various teams to ensure redressal of public grievances

RAJOURI, May 28: To remove all the encroachments from the town and also ensure the safe and wholesome food items, fruits and adulteration free milk, curd and other eatable items to the consumers in Rajouri the district administration has launched a drive against the same.
Soon after taking over as District Development Commissioner, Rajouri on April 24 last month, F C Bhagat took various measures to make the administration responsive to people’s problems and needs.
The people in Rajouri town who were fed up with increasing encroachments which had also led to insanitation and traffic jams in the town heaved a sigh of relief with the removal of many encroachments by the administration under the stewardship of Mr Bhagat especially from Gujjar Mandi to Abdullah bridge.
The DC has made it a point for himself to visit the market areas every week to look into the public grievances and problems and issue on spot directives and instructions to his subordinate officers to settle their all genuine issues.
To ensure the better implementation of the orders Mr Bhagat also constituted special teams of the subordinate officers of various departments in the district.
The DC also along with the senior officers has started a precedence of visiting the remote and far flung areas to hold grievances redressal meets there. In this connection meetings were held at Targai, Kandi, Sunderbani, Nowshera with the members of civil society.
Another team of officers was constituted to check the attendance of the employees in Government offices in the district. In the first instance 43 employees in various Government offices who remained absent from duty were placed under suspension. Since then the attendance has improved in the Government offices.
The DC has also asked the concerned officers to ensure that mutton, milk, curd and cheese are sold at the rates fixed by Government and there is no over charging.
