Govt committed to inclusive development of State: Sham

JAMMU, May 28: Various deputations and individuals today called on Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma  and projected demands of their respective areas in presence of officers of district administration, functionaries of Power Development Department, Public Health Engineering (PHE)  and other departments.
The Minister resolved various issues on the spot and   instructed the concerned departments to use all means to meet the other demands.
The Minister also reviewed the delivery of public services, pace on the ongoing developmental and civic works besides other facilities in general and in the winter capital in particular.
Interacting with the deputationists, Mr. Sham reiterated commitment of Government for inclusive and equitable development of the State.
A delegation from Vijaypur, led by ex. Minister Manjeet Singh   apprised the Minister  about the problems of residents of Purmandal, Rajinder Pura and Mohalla Masha etc which were mainly related to supply of drinking water,  up-gradation of power infrastructure and better health services etc. The Minister gave instructions to the concerned departments and assured the delegation that their demands will be redressed on priority.
A deputation of ITI Diploma holders and Daily Rated Workers Union, led by District President Samba, Munish Abrol also met the Minister and projected their demands. The Minister assured that their genuine demands will be looked into sympathetically.
Another deputation from Tanda Akhnoor also met the Minister and apprised him about the difficulties faced by various villages  in the area due to land encroachment by some persons.
Another deputation from Newplot, Janipur area, led by Sunil Dimple projected the problem of shortage of water and erratic power supply in the area and suggested to install a 50 MVA transformer in Janipur Grid Station to bifurcate the load of the area. The Minister also discussed the matter with the Chief Engineer and asked for an early solution of the problem.
The Minister discussed the demands raised by the deputation from Ramgarh, Samba and Chowadhi with concerned Executive Engineer on telephone and assured the deputation that other demands will be redressed on priority basis.
The main demands raised by  various deputations  included construction of  tube-wells, improvement in power supply system, up-gradation of drainage system, up-gradation of hospitals and improvement of   irrigation facilities.
On a complaint, the Minister ordered   SE Ground Water Division to submit a detailed report about the functioning of a tubewell at Nai Basti, Akhnoor.
