Brahman Sabha for discontinuation of annual Darbar Move practice

JAMMU, Mar 15: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha today demanded that shifting of Darbar Move system should be dispensed with as huge financial load is borne on the UT exchequer, which comprises of the tax paid by the native of the J&K as well as the Centre.
“Given the resources available by the high level technical upgradation in the present era, shifting of Darbar has lost significance of decades old system,” said Ved Parkash Sharma, President DBPS, while addressing a meeting of Sabha activists here.
Sharma said that the saving enabled through its process should be utilized to focus, development, especially addressing the problems of unemployment and unemployed youth.
Advocate P C Sharma, senior Member of the Sabha and Retired DC, B S Jamwal, a prominent social activist, opined that nowhere in any State of the country, annual Darbar Move activity is prevalent and hence this practice does not hold good in any manner considering the public interest.
They appealed PM, Union Home Minister and Lt Governor to consider the aspiration of the people of UT who are supporting the cause in view the present resource.
Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a leader of the world, they appealed to global community to honour Narendra Modi with Nobel Peace Prize of year 2020-21 for his utmost dedication and pro-people approach.
