JAMMU, May 29:Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharati will lead Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) -sponsored parallel Amarnath pilgrimage on June 3 from Jammu and she would be joined by a large number of Sadhus drawn from different parts of the country.
“Uma Bharati will reach Jammu on June 2 and next morning after performing prayers, she will lead thousands of yatris proceeding for Amarnath shrine,” Surinder Jain, VHP international spokesperson told reporters here this morning.
Dr Jain said Uma Bharati will be accompanied by Mahant Rameshwar Dass and Ram Swaroop Dass besides a large number of Sadhus during the yatra.
“Thousands of Sadhus, Mahants and activists of VHP will assemble at Jammu base camp to proceed for Baltal on June 3,” he said and added that the yatra will leave for Baltal on June 3 at any cost to perform darshan next day on Jesht Purnima.
“The State Government should cooperate for smooth conduct of yatra,” he said, adding supporters from Kathua, Ramban, Samba, Udhampur and Sunderbani leading their processions will also reach Jammu on the same day.
“After performing prayers, the batch will leave for Baltal and the first darshan will be performed at Amarnath cave on June 4,” he added.
Rejecting the Government’s official date of yatra, VHP leader said that the yatra will commence from June 4 and not on June 25 as stated by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
He said thousand s of Bajrangis will reach here on June 2 to take part in the yatra next day.
He said in case any attempt was made to stop the yatra on June 4 the yatris will start protest then and there. Warning the Government ‘s move to use force against pilgrims he said the yatris will start a Jail Baro Andolan in such a way that the authorities will fail short of jails to accommodate the protesters, he added.
He said besides Jammu yatra will also be started from Kashmir Valley on June 3 in which Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs will take part.
