Illegal structure raised on forest land dismantled

POONCH, Mar 16: The Forest Department dismantled a pucca structure raised on forest land and also retrived forest land in Mendhar area last evening.
Official sources said that on March 9, 2021, Forest department of Poonch Division on specific information regarding re-attempt of encroachment by illegally raising structure (under construction) on forest land in Khasara No. 117 Bhatadurian village in Compartment No. 157/M, Nar Block of Mendhar Range recorded as Ghair-Mumkin-Jungle in RoR 1961-62. Attempt of encroachment had been once foiled in June 2020 by dismantling illegally raised walls of under construction structure.
In response to re-attempt of encroachment, under overall supervision of Mohan Choudhary, DFO Poonch, a team of Forest staff and Forest Protection Force headed by Arif Mirza, Range Officer Mendhar along with Executive Magistrate (NT Harni) and police personal reached spot and started the eviction process peacefully without any major resistance by dismantling under construction structure.
Forest team could barely remove some portion of illegally under construction structure, suddenly Executive Magistrate created drama to foil eviction drive started supporting the encroachers and instigated family, which resulted into failure of operation.
Case of failed eviction drive, become a challenge for Forest field staff in protection forest land, otherwise, other attempt of encroachment would increase manifold beyond control of forest staff.
Through continuous perusal by DFO Poonch and cooperation of Rahul Yadav DC Poonch and Ramesh Angral SSP Poonch, Forest Division Poonch managed to dismantle illegally raised structure on Forest land last evening peacefully.
