JAMMU, Mar 17: The Union of Victims of Police Personnel Families today protested here demanding speedy disposal of cases pending under SRO 43 of 1994 read with SRO 376 of 2017.
The protestors said that their late fathers were working in the Police Department and died during service. “We the kins of the police personnel are suffering for the settlement of our SRO cases from the past several years”, they added.
The protesters said that since long not even a single file under the said SRO has been cleared while as scores of such cases are gathering dust in the offices.
“48 files have already been settled the previous Government and one of the same case was settled by present Chief Secretary himself”, said protestors.
The protestors said that they are following their cases since long, but the Chief Secretary has kept all the files pending in his office.
“SRO files have been approved by all the concerned departments, even our medical check up and physical measurement has been already done”, the protestors added.
“Our families are suffering due to acute financial crisis”, he added.
The protestors appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to look into the matter and get the cases cleared as soon as possible.
Among others present were Jamsheed Ahmad, Sameer Wani, Tariq Ahmad, Gagan Singh, Shahnawaz Gani, Musadir Afzal, Mudasir Hakeem, etc.
