JAMMU, Mar 17: Apni Party vice president, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas has urged the Government of India to restore Statehood to J&K without further delay and also hold early Assembly elections in the UT of J&K.
Speaking at a function organized at Apni Party office in Gandhi Nagar, Manhas said further delaying restoration will add to the worries of the people who have been rendered helpless under the present situation.
“Time has come when the Statehood should be restored and Assembly elections are held in J&K as soon as possible,” said Manhas.
During the function, Ajaz Kazmi was honoured by the senior leaders of the party on his appointment as J&K Trade Union president of Apni Party.
On this occasion, he said that the previous Governments whether in J&K or in Delhi created a wedge between the two regions of the erstwhile State.
“Apni Party has pledged to bring people of two regions close to each other. We have to minimize the differences for peace and development and both these things are interrelated,” he added.
He said that “We all should work together for peace and prosperity,” and added that the party is committed to the protection of jobs and lands for the people of J&K.
Meanwhile, general secretary Vijay Bakaya said that as a Government officer he had got many occasions to interact with employees unions and he was always proactive in solving their problems and now as general secretary along with Ajaz Kazmi and other senior leaders he would be able to raise their issues with force and knowledge.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary Vikram Malhotra assured them that Apni Party stands with the employees in Government departments, PSUs, Banks, Industrial workers and other sectors.
Provincial president, Jammu, Manjit Singh demanded that “90:10 ratio should be adopted in industrial and other private sectors so that the locals get employment.”
Ajaz Kazmi, Trade Union president of Apni Party said that he will leave no stone unturned to fight for the cause of employees, pensioners, VRS SRTC workers, daily wagers, contractual workers, CP workers, ITI Trained workers, contractual lecturers and others.
Ex-MLA and in charge district president, Udhampur, Faqir Nath, party coordinator for Jammu Central and in-charge district president for Jammu Urban, Pranav Shagotra, provincial secretary Jammu, Dr Rohit Gupta, General Secretary J&K Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya, Provincial President Jammu Youth Wing Gourav Kapoor, Incharge for Jammu Rural-A Pushp Dev Kumar Uppal and others were present.
