SAMBA, Mar 18: District police Samba foiled attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 10 animals at a naka NHW Tapyal in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today.
According to police, a team of PS Ghagwal while performing routine vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero vehicle having registration number JK02AF-9894 coming from Kathua side and heading towards Valley when it tried to escape from the naka. However driver managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot. In this connection, a case FIR No. 66/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
Similarly in another incident, police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, rescued five more bovines which were being transported in a Mahindra Bolero which was without registration number.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transportation of bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 67/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
